The end for Internet Explorer

After decades of service, Internet Explorer has reached its end of life. Today Microsoft is retiring Internet Explorer 11.

Web developers world wide cheer on, as we no longer have to support IE11. A browser, that hasn't received much love by its creators, in recent years. IE is lacking a lot of features that the other browsers are supporting. IE11 supports an early version of CSS Flexbox, which is not compatible with the published standard. However it was IE that brought Flexbox to life. Too bad Microsoft didn't keep up with the emerging standard.

Internet Explorer has played its part, just like Netscape and Mosaic did before it.

Time to celebrate the Web :-)
